Weekend Recipes: Chili Pepper Sirloin v2

Another version of the Chili Pepper Sirloin. A very tasty steak that you will definitely enjoy.

What You Need

  • 1⁄2 teaspoon  ground black pepper
  • 1 1⁄2 teaspoons snipped fresh rosemary
  • 1 teaspoon fresh basil
  • 1⁄8 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 1⁄2 lbs boneless beef top sirloin steaks
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning

How To Make It

Coat steak with extra virgin olive oil, evenly on both sides. Stir together, black pepper, rosemary, basil, garlic powder, and chili powder. Coat both sides of steak with Cajun seasoning and ketchup mixture after mixing the two.

Grill steak on an uncovered grill directly over medium coals for 6 minutes. Turn steak; grill for 8 to 12 minutes more or until desired doneness. Cut into serving-size pieces. Garnish with fresh rosemary and serve with grilled sweet peppers.

To grill by indirect heat: Arrange preheated coals around a drip pan in a covered grill. Test for medium heat above pan. Place steak on grill over drip pan. Cover and grill for 20 to 24 minutes or until desired doneness, turning steak once.

This recipe makes 6 servings has less than 160 calories, contains 26 grams of protein, and only 4 grams of fat. The chili powder and olive oil give it an extra zing that liven up the dish. It takes around 30 to 35 minutes to make.
